2. Amount and Type of Debris
A gutter with a light dusting of leaves cleans fast. A gutter packed with two years of wet, composted debris takes far longer and weighs a lot more.

A single-storey bungalow and a three-storey home with vaulted sections aren’t the same job. More height means taller ladders or roof access, more setup, more safety precautions. This usually sits inside the accessibility rate rather than a separate line, but it’s a real cost driver.
4. Gutter Guards or Screens
Screens cut both ways. They keep big debris out, but they still need cleaning, and the screen has to be lifted or removed to do it right.
- Cleaning gutters with screens: higher rate, around $2.00/ft for the extra handling
